Southern Ontario residents may want to keep their rain jackets, and even the occasional snow brush, close at hand this spring.
According to the 2026 Canadian Spring Forecast from the Old Farmer’s Almanac, much of the country, including Ontario, is expected to experience cooler-than-normal temperatures during the core spring months of April and May.
The long-range forecast, published in the 2026 Old Farmer’s Almanac Canadian Edition, focuses on weather deviations from historical averages rather than day-to-day predictions. It suggests that spring 2026 will arrive more slowly across large parts of Canada, particularly from British Columbia through the Prairies and into central and eastern provinces.
