The federal government is funding rural transit infrastructure in Wilmot and Woolwich townships as part of an ongoing effort to enhance transportation options in smaller communities across Ontario.
Funding is provided by the federal Rural Transit Solutions Fund (RTSF), which supports projects that expand or improve public transit in rural, remote, Indigenous and Northern communities.
In Waterloo Region, the Township of Wilmot, the Township of Woolwich, and the Regional Municipality of Waterloo will receive federal funding to support the expansion of transit services in the two townships.
