Dropping two of three over the long weekend, the Elmira Sugar Kings went from first to third as the race tightened atop the GOHL’s Western Conference.
Friday the 13th proved unlucky indeed, as the Kings lost a 4-2 decision to St. Marys, following that up with a 5-2 loss to the Stratford Warriors Sunday before getting back in the win column on Monday by defeating the KW Siskins 4-2.
The Kings (31-8-2-1) now have 65 points, two back of the Chatham Maroons (31-8-2-3) and one behind the St. Marys Lincolns (32-9-2), with two games and one game in hand, respectively.
