Just eight years of age, she’s already an award-winning author.
Linwood’s Paige Royston, who wrote the storybook Princess Elsie Sweets Olivia Potatobottom and Bob: The Rescue, won the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA) Waterloo Unit’s Young Authors award earlier this year.
She first submitted it before last Christmas, and she first won just at the local level, but the wins kept continuing when she learned she also won regionals in February.
The young writer said she literally screamed when she heard about the award, overwhelmed by the excitement of it all.
