The Sugar Kings may have got something of a scare when the LaSalle Vipers won games three and four to tie the GOHL playoff series at 2-2, but Elmira came back to win the next two, taking the series in six games.
The deciding match came Tuesday night in LaSalle, where the Kings got a five-goal outburst in the third to win 7-4.
But first, there was a bit of adversity to overcome. After winning the opening games at home, the Kings headed out on the road for games three and four, which did them no favours – they posted losses of 4-0 on March 18 and 5-3 last Saturday.
