Parents hoping to get a new playground at St. Jacobs Public School have now raised around $180,000 after a resident added $100,000 to the pot.
The community is looking to replace the play equipment removed two years ago because it had been deemed unsafe by the Waterloo Region District School Board in 2019.
Steve Haase, the president of the St. Jacobs Home and School Association, said the organization was very pleased by the donation from a village resident, who asked to remain anonymous.
