It’s been in the works for more than three years now, and at the end of June work will finally commence on the largest affordable housing project in Canada at a site adjacent to RIM Park.
“This is the first building in our University Avenue East project, and it’s a partnership between a whole bunch of folks, including multiple levels of government, not-for-profits and the City of Waterloo,” Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region CEO Phil Mills told The Observer.
“It’s incredibly exciting.”
