The College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO) recently revised its position on veterinary stewardship of antimicrobial drugs, adopting more modern wording to emphasize the college’s dedication to antimicrobial stewardship as a central component of animal welfare and public health.
“It’s not about stricter oversight. It’s not about anything along those lines. It was refreshing the language, making sure it was modern, and making sure it was dealing with the current environment. So we tweaked it, and now we’ve reissued it,” emphasized Jan Robinson, the organization’s registrar and CEO.
