A woman groomed and used for sex as a teenager by St. Jacobs musician Steven Lehmann told a court that the KW Glee youth singing group founder “betrayed” her trust and left her feeling “worthless” and ashamed.

The victim, who thought the man could have been the “father I never had,” also revealed that the 54-year-old former music teacher, who pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation, led her to believe he might commit suicide if anyone discovered what he had done.

The father of four had unprotected full sex with the then 16-year-old girl even after she told him she was scared, Crown prosecutor Anthony Gallo told Kitchener’s Ontario Court of Justice on Tuesday.
