The next group of Wellesley councillors will get a big pay raise courtesy of the current group of township councillors.

The mayor’s pay will rise 16.2 per cent to $39,193.91 from $33,737 following the municipal election in October. Councillors’ stipend will jump 24.2 per cent to $22,721.00 from $18,291.84.

The changes were approved at last week’s council meeting.
