Baker, Erma

On Sunday, July 13, 2025, Erma passed peacefully surrounded by her family at Lisaard House, Cambridge at the age of 84 years. Cherished wife of Ken for 62 years. Loved mother and grandmother of David and Janet of St. Jacobs and their children Tim and Julia (Ian); Cheryl and Robert Weber of Conestogo and their children Brett, Luke and Macy; Steven and Janet of Hamilton and their children Jesse, Jordan, Justin, and Sydney; Jeanette Meyer of Wellesley and her children Olivia (Dylan) and Madison; and Andrea and Lance Martin of Heidelberg and their children Braiden and Blake. Sister of Vera Martin, Rebecca Cressman, Marlene (Murray) Baker and Marie (Ernie) Fretz, and sister-in-law to Doris, Mary, and Helen. Erma will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents George and Nancy (Martin) Metzger, and brothers Vernon (Dorothy, Rosemarie), Stanley (Alice), John, Emmanuel and Ernie, also brothers-in-law Nelson Martin and Curtis Cressman. Erma was a devoted wife and mother who loved to be with her family and friends. Her selfless service and devotion to her children, church and community will always be remembered. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A funeral will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025 at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, 1310 King St. N., St. Jacobs, followed by interment in St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery. A reception will be held at the church after the interment. Donations to Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) would be appreciated by the family, and may be made through the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
