COMMUNITY LIFE & COMMUNICATIONS: Diane Strickler invited the ladies on behalf of the Bloomingdale Women’s Institute to a trip to New Hamburg to see Calendar Girls which is put on by the New Hamburg Community Players. Calendar Girls is one of the most touching, complex and relatable shows. It is about a Women’s Institute in England who do a calendar to raise money for an important cause, but the friendships, friction, and situations these characters live through feel so real. This play is a true story of friendship and loss, of conflict and healing. For those interested please contact Grace Alton – galton@live.ca>
The ladies are also invited to the next Bloomingdale meeting on October 7th at 7:30 p.m. at Bloomingdale United Church. The program will have members forcing bulbs for winter enjoyment and will be shown how to have flowers off-season. Those interested are asked to please contact Sharon Bettridge (sbettridge63@outlook.com) so she will have enough pots and bulbs.
