Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Columbia Forest LTC, at the age of 86 years. Loving father of Kelly McCoy (2008), Maureen McCoy of Alberta, Heather Motz (Lloyd) of Drayton, and John (Marcela) McCoy of St. Agatha. Cherished Poppa of Jeremy Trapp and Kolten Patton; Melanie and Timmy Motz; Nigel and Emma McCoy, and four great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Maryann, Lucienne (Linda), Danny, and the late Teddy. Predeceased by his mother Laurette Giroux. Hector was a devoted and loving father, deeply committed to his family and his wife. He found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, was an avid bowler who enjoyed horseshoes, puzzles, darts, pool, biking, camping, fishing, and time spent outdoors. Known for his patient and gentle nature, Hector was the kind of father many wish for. As a grandfather he was affectionate and warm, always ready with a hug. He had a particular love for holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween. His warmth, kindness, and loving presence will be profoundly missed. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira with a memorial service at 2 p.m. Interment in Elmira Union Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home.
