Julie passed away unexpectedly and peacefully, while visiting family in Montreal on Sunday, January 25, 2026 shortly before her 61st birthday. Cherished and patient wife of James Jansen. Loving mother to Madison (Joseph), Drew and Conor. Blessed and enthusiastic “Nana” to Aliyah, Harlow and Tate. Loving sister to Paul (Vicki) and Tim (Lucia). Predeceased by her parents Bob (2013) and Helene (2014) Martin. Julie’s life was rooted in commitment to support others; her family and friends, the residents and participants of Elmira Community Living for 29 years, and most recently as the Outreach Worker for the loving team at Hospice Wellington. She cherished “mandatory” family dinners, playing cards with friends and bringing way too much dessert for family gatherings in Tillsonburg. She loved being a sister, wife, mother and aunt. Her joy as “Nana” was unending. Her laugh and smile, her infectious enthusiasm, her peaceful presence and hugs will be missed. Her friendship cannot be replaced. Her extended and loving family of Martins, Jansens and Gambacorts will miss the “sun and light” that was just so - Julie. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 3, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A private family interment will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home.
