It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rick, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
Rick is survived by his wife, Sandy; his children, Lisa (Cory), Jennie (Thom), his grandchildren Zoey, Ruby and Jonas. Sadly missed by his siblings, Doug (Elaine), Lori, sister-in-law Kathy, brother-in-law David (Jane) Horne, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Joyce and Earl and his brother Rob.
Rick was a dedicated lifetime employee of Home Hardware Distribution Centre in St. Jacobs, retiring in May 2019 after 50 years. He had a passion for landscaping and took great pride in maintaining his beautiful yard.
In these difficult times, Rick’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to their neighbours and friends for their help and support over the last few months. They also want to thank Hospice Waterloo Region for making Rick and his family comfortable during his final days.
Following Rick’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation or service at this time.
