A 123-acre parcel of land along Beaver Creek Road in Waterloo, near the Laurel Creek Reservoir, is changing hands thanks to a new deal between the city and the Grand River Conservation Authority.
The mostly undeveloped land has previously been used to host environmental programming, primarily for kids, at the Laurel Creek Nature Centre. As part of the deal, the GRCA will continue to host its environmental education program there for the next five years, while it seeks to establish alternate venues.
The price tag for the land: $1,296,000.
