Two Wellesley Township men were arrested and charged this week for the murder of Anton Radisic, stabbed in Kitchener on October 20.

Police found 38-year-old Radisic about 1 a.m. in a severely damaged black Mazda sedan that had overturned on the sidewalk in front of 235 King St. E., near downtown Kitchener. He had a puncture wound in his torso, succumbing to the injury after being transported to Grand River Hospital. A forensic autopsy was later carried out at Hamilton General Hospital, confirming the stab wound as the cause of death.

Witnesses saw the man driving erratically before the car hit a curb and crashed.

Stephen McNaney, 44, and his son Martin McNaney, 18, of St. Clements were charged with second-degree murder during an appearance in show-cause hearing in a Kitchener courtroom October 21. Martin McNaney was back in court on Thursday; his father was present via a live cam.

Witnesses helped police trace the stabbing to Harold Avenue in Kitchener, where the Oakville resident had sustained his injury minutes earlier in an altercation with the two men, according to the Waterloo Regional Police Service. Police set up a command centre and spent the day canvassing the surrounding neighborhood asking if residents saw anything that night between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 1 a.m.

Police are not divulging any further information at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation now being carried out by detectives, who are asking for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.  Anyone with information can contact the homicide branch at 519-653-7700, ext. 8666 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
