Last week, I was surprised to receive a phone call and learn that I was going to be getting the best type of hunting dog there is.
“What kind of dog are we getting?” I said to my best friend Tom.
“Well, Linda and I are getting a black lab,” he replied.
I will admit, I was not crazy about the idea of sharing ownership with Tom and Tom’s wife Linda, especially since she had no interest in duck hunting with us. Heck, she doesn’t even own a shotgun or a spread of mallard decoys. Nevertheless, when you are getting the best type of hunting dog, as I was, you sometimes need to make concessions like this.
