The competition to become the next ambassador at the Wellesley Fall Fair is very much accessible to any young person, regardless of gender. They’ll be judged by the content of their character and community spirit, not criteria normally associated with the likes of beauty pageants.
“When they’re an ambassador for our fall fair, they’re also an ambassador for the Township of Wellesley. They are a public relations person and the face of the fair,” explained organizer Wendy Richardson.
“We have them go to schools to promote the fair programs, and they do several conventions. We have some workshops for them, like this year we’re going to have a dress-for-success program. We also take them on farm tours to see how different farms work.”
