It was in 1952 that Elmira’s Dennis and Barbara Lichty were first set up on a blind date.
After four years, the couple was married on Aug. 18, 1956. Next week, they’ll celebrate their platinum anniversary.
“It was a blind date arranged by a friend,” said Barbara, who was 15 years old when she met Dennis, 19, who she found to be a nice fellow.
Ever since their first date at a drive-in theatre in Preston, the two have been inseparable.
