It was a win one, lose one weekend for the Elmira Sugar Kings, who beat Woodstock 4-1 on the road last Friday, then dropped a 7-4 decision to the visiting Chatham Maroons on Sunday.
The Kings are fourth in the GOHL’s Western Conference with a record of 2-1.
As the season gets rolling, the Kings are still looking to stabilize their roster, with some holes remaining to be filled. They learned that Ryder Roberson won’t be returning, as the OHL’s Kitchener Rangers opted to keep him after their training camp. The team is also now dealing with injuries to Thomas Chan, Wyatt Marks and Cam Martin, while Ryan Cornfield remains week to week.
